Seattle, WA Why It’s Fierce: Carriers are looking to mobile enterprise users to boost their bottom lines, but they need a cost-effective way to offer new data solutions, fast. Qpass' activity management software allows carriers to quickly launch and manage all aspects of mobile data solutions -- everything from content partner relationships, productization, payment collection and settlement, reporting, and customer billing -- without changing their existing billing systems. Qpass boasts Cingular Wireless and AT&T Wireless as carrier partners and recently raised $10.7 million in second-round funding. The company also has relationships with several other content companies, including Handango and the Internet division of Walt Disney. In a space where many of the competitors like iConverse and 4thpass have been either acquired or died off, Qpass' competitive position is solid.
