AOL MyMobile debuts for Windows devices

Tools
AOL announced the beta launch of AOL MyMobile, a new application promising users simplified access to AOL web services on wireless devices--the company also introduced enhancements to its AOL Mobile Search, including support for Research In Motion's BlackBerry platform and a forthcoming version optimized for Apple iPhone's, as well as an extension of its AIM TXT shortcode across all major U.S. carriers. Developed by on-device portal technology provider Action Engine, AOL MyMobile delivers personalized access to services including AIM, AOL Mail, AOL CityGuide, MapQuest, AOL Local Search, AOL News, Weather, AOL Sports and AOL Pictures. According to AOL, features like drop-down lists and intuitive menus enable easy scrolling through applications and content, with the software learning and remembering user favorites and recent requests to personalize the user experience. The application also allows users to access saved directions, search results, restaurant details and related data when they are offline or outside their coverage area. AOL MyMobile will first launch on Windows Mobile-based devices, expanding to other operating systems in the coming months.
