MobiTV now showing on T-Mobile USA
LAS VEGAS--Mobile broadcast solutions provider MobiTV announced an agreement with T-Mobile USA to preload its live mobile television application on the operator's exclusive HTC HD2. Thanks to the deal, MobiTV's mobile media services are now available across all four major U.S. operators. MobiTV offers programming from content partners like CBS, NBC, ESPN and MTV Networks. MobiTV said its daily viewership increased 49 percent from 2008 to 2009.
T-Mobile USA released the HD2 Wednesday. In addition to MobiTV, the touchscreen device boasts a mobile entertainment suite highlighted by the premiere of Blockbuster on Demand, the video rental chain's first-ever video download application for smartphones. According to T-Mobile, Blockbuster on Demand enables consumers to purchase a movie on one device and watch it across other connected devices. The operator also teamed with Paramount Pictures to preload the studio's megahits Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen via the HD2's memory card.
