Tools

SAN FRANCISCO--Opera Software is teaming with web content filtering and threat management solutions provider Netsweeper to offer operators new tools to block phishing, fraud, viruses, trojans, malware and adult content across mobile devices running the Opera Mini browser. According to Opera, the real-time solution leverages Netsweeper's artificial intelligence engines to categorize URLs browsed by consumers, identifying and blocking viruses, spyware and other malicious applications--Netsweeper has already categorized over 3.8 billion unique URLs with an accuracy rate of 99.9 percent. Opera adds the solution is capable of processing interactive, user-generated Web 2.0 content as well.

The Opera Mini browser counts more than 65 million active monthly users worldwide. In August 2010, users viewed 33.9 billion pages in Opera Mini, with the browser compressing 4.5 petabytes of operator data.
