Verizon joins the Big Ten for live college football

Verizon Wireless announced an agreement with cable's Big Ten Network to simulcast live college football matchups via the V Cast Video service. Accreleaseording to Verizon, the Big Ten Network will stream games each Saturday, offering fans live looks at venerable programs including Michigan State University, Penn State University and Ohio State University--V Cast Video will also feature highlights, news and updates.

First launched in mid-2007, the Big Ten Network televises between 35 and 40 football games, 105 regular season men's basketball games, 55 women's basketball games and dozens of Big Ten Championship events each year in addition to its nightly studio show Big Ten Tonight, coaches' shows and classic games. The network is available to approximately 70 million households nationwide in the U.S. and Canada.
