As predicted, Music World Entertainment president Mathew Knowles failed to connect with a listless Mobile Entertainment Live! audience Monday, offering attendees few fresh insights into the mobile content market. Knowles, whose firm represents daughter/R&B superstar Beyoncé Knowles, said the mobile platform is vital to the future of the music industry, outlining a multi-platform vision emphasizing brand affiliations, endorsement deals and related marketing tie-ins as much as content. "I'm in the branding business, not the music business," he said. "You're not doing your job if you're not looking at the totality. I believe in the 360 model." Knowles cited as an example a new Beyoncé-themed mobile game, titled Fashion Diva, tied to the singer's House of Dereon clothing brand.
