Aviary extends photo-editing tools SDK to iOS and Android apps

Digital creative tools provider Aviary introduced a version of its free photo editing SDK optimized for iOS and Android smartphones, enabling developers to integrate a series of effects, filtering and sharing tools to their mobile applications.

Available for download here, the Aviary SDK promises to streamline the application workflow, ensuring that users don't need to open another app to edit, save and share their images. Aviary features include auto-enhance, redeye removal, color and saturation adjustments, brightness and contrast controls, and cropping/flipping/rotation options--the app also boasts photo effects, text and drawing options, stickers and a meme generator. Developers can add all options or cherrypick the features they wish to add.

Aviary reports that more than 30 developer partners have already adopted the SDK. The firm adds it is at work on a host of new tools and filters that it will prioritize based on partner feedback. Also in the pipeline: A version of the SDK optimized for Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad tablet.
