Mobile operators are well positioned to capitalise on the upsurge in demand for healthcare cloud services, according to a new study from Pyramid Research. The firm reports that operators can gain ground due to their ability to offer the most comprehensive solutions, complementing cloud services with other ICT products such as medical monitoring or mobile health applications. Pyramid Research analyst Ewa Romaniuk-Calkowska said that operators need to tailor their cloud computing products to the specific needs and requirements of their existing clients to quickly monetise the cloud opportunity. "However, it is important to note that in the developed markets, healthcare organisations expect their service providers to deploy comprehensive and integrated systems that combine communication services for medical and administrative staff," she said in a statement.
