Survey: Executives say benefits of getting corporate data while mobile outweigh security risks

Business executives have concerns about security when accessing corporate information while mobile, but they think benefits of accessing key data while travelling outweigh those concerns, according to an Economist Intelligence Unit report, which was sponsored by Cisco. Only 11 per cent of respondents to the survey said their organisation does not provide access to critical data outside the office. Of note, larger companies are the most willing to allow access to key company data and the most likely to impose stricter rules as to how this occurs. More than 90 per cent of companies surveyed with revenue of more than $1 billion allow their employees to access data via either personal or company-owned devices. Release
