Virgin's French MVNO operation on track

With a customer base in excess of 800,000, Virgin Mobile's French MVNO business is claiming to be the country's 'true fourth' operator. Mind you, Virgin has a long way to go, France's three main cellular operators Orange, SFR and Bouygues Telecom have a combined subscriber base of more than 50 million. When Virgin Mobile launched in April 2006 its target was to sign one million customers by 2009 which, given its current growth rate, should be an easily achievable goal.
