Vodafone wins major UK utility contract

Tools

National Grid, the UK's major gas and electricity utility company, has awarded a £5 million contract to Vodafone, appointing the UK mobile operator its sole mobile voice and mobile data network provider for the next three years. National Grid owns and operates the UK's high voltage electricity network as well as the high pressure national gas distribution system. In addition to delivering mobile communications services to the National Grid workforce, Vodafone will be providing embedded SIMs in laptops and telemetry SIMs for detection and diagnosis of network faults and mobile broadband devices so that field staff can have connectivity and access to key information at all times.
