The Future of 4G Interactive Executive Summit:
4G Reality Check – Maximizing Your Investment in 4G
Event is Now On-Demand
With the exception of Clearwire, LTE has emerged as the next-generation network technology winner among North American mobile operators. Even Clearwire has hinted that it will transition from WiMAX to LTE in the future and Sprint (which uses Clearwire’s WiMAX network for its Sprint 4G service), has said it might deploy LTE as part of its Network Vision project. Verizon is clearly leading the LTE push with its nationwide network that now covers more than 74 major metropolitan markets. AT&T is expected to launch LTE in five markets this summer with 15 more markets commercial by year-end. MetroPCS operates LTE in 14 core markets and U.S. Cellular is expected to begin launching LTE in November.
With 4G networks becoming a reality, many operators are turning to the next stage of the deployment game—getting consumers to upgrade to 4G. One way they are doing that is through state-of-the-art devices and by touting their network superiority. Operators are also focused on enhancing their buildout with next-generation backhaul and emphasizing the value of these faster networks with services such as video. But 4G is no longer just an option for the Tier 1 operators, Tier 2 and Tier 3 operators are also exploring ways that they can effectively deploy LTE.
Join the editors of FierceWireless for a unique virtual event to explore the many ways operators are maximizing their investments in their 4G networks and evolving their business strategies to accommodate this new era of mobile broadband. We will also take a look at what is next on the network evolution path – LTE-advanced.
