Position Description

SUMMARY:
Be part of a team developing a platform for the next generation of messaging and mobile applications, for supporting mobile interaction on a global scale. You will be responsible for developing a platform where scalability and reliability are the cornerstones. The technology used will include J2EE, Web Services and JMS messaging. Experience developing and working with highly scalable, secure, robust and reliable messaging solutions is a plus as is any experience building or integrating with billing systems of telecommunication companies. Developers with strong core Java skills with a proven ability to create scalable systems are a good match.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Lead and participate in design processes
•Create scalable code platforms for future reuse
•Translate requirements and functional specifications to actualized code base
•Think and operate independently with accountability to team and product

QUALIFICATIONS
•5 years of software experience
•Mastery of software development technologies and techniques
•Basic understanding of mobile application development
•2-5 years of experience with Java at the J2EE/core level
•Excellent written and verbal skills
•Excellent skills with debugging technologies
•Excellent skills with build technologies (build systems, revision control , etc.)

NICE-TO-HAVE
•Experience with SMPP protocol, JMS messaging systems
•Experience with carrier billing systems such as QPass
•Previous experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment
•Passion for technology and gadgets (we get them all)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
B.S. In Computer Science from an accredited university and 7+ years relevant experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS
•Java (specifically J2EE technologies)
•Scripting languages
