Reporting to: Operational Finance Manager
Purpose of Job:
To undertake billing and credit control function to ensure timely payments are made to the company to maximise cash flow and minimise risk. Assist with bank reconciliations, purchase ledger and other accounts related duties as required.
Principal Accountabilities (responsibilities and duties):
• Investigate and resolve credit control queries or escalate as needed
• Using automated system for credit control diary management and dunning letters
• Promptly deal with solicitors regarding bad debts
• Pro-actively perform credit checks through Dunn & Bradstreet
• Logging of commercial contracts and updating billing systems for new contract terms
• Ensure Sales Logix system is kept up to date, to include: processing ICSTIS letters, breach and adjudication letters, and logging red and yellow cards and miscellaneous contracts
• Process contra’s and allocate unidentified receipts in a timely manner
Key Performance Indicators:
• Prompt resolution of credit control queries
• Prompt and appropriate escalation of bad debt issues
• Timely execution of credit control checks
• Accurate and up to date logging of information on billing and Sales Logix system
Decision Making Authority:
• Able to take routine decisions regarding credit control function
• Able to resolve issues through appropriate escalation
Experience, Qualifications and Technical Knowledge:
• Experience gained within an accounts receivables environment and/or experience of credit control.
• Knowledge of automated credit control systems
• Good general standard of education, could be studying for AAT
• Good IT skills in Microsoft Office including Excel at Intermediate level
• Understanding and high interest of mobile technology a definite advantage
• Commercial nous
• Able to combine both assertiveness and empathy towards customer
• High attention to detail and able to produce work accurately
• High Degree of numeracy
