Reporting to: Group Development Director

Purpose of Job:
Management of regional software development team and projects

Principal Accountabilities (responsibilities and duties):
• Oversee resource allocation of regional development team to ensure efficient project productivity
• Production of technical specifications based on business requirements
• Analysis and development of requirements with group clients (internal & external)
• Scheduling of development resource to meet business requirements.
• Performance management including mentoring, coaching and development of regional development team
• Selection of staff for projects based on skill sets
- Selection of tools, methodologies and working practices for efficient project management
- Mentoring, training and spreading best practice amongst staff
- Monitoring project performance to ensure timely delivery
- Reviewing requirements, designs and source code
• Ensuring adherence of working procedures as specified in the Group Development First Time Policy
• Working in collaboration with other Regional Development Managers across Group

Key Performance Indicators:
• Able to deliver projects on time and to budget through the effective and appropriate deployment of development team resources and tools
• Overseeing the ongoing development of systems design and platform architecture to meet future requirements
• Able to correctly interpret, analyse and develop clients’ requirements into technical specifications
• Overseeing the maintenance of framework for developing applications with high usability and efficiencies
• Development of test plans to ensure highest quality of delivery
• Increased skills cascaded through development team
• 100% adherance to Group Development First Time Policy

Decision Making Authority:
• Organisation and development of regional team to ensure effective achievement of accountabilities and objectives.
• Management of software development, design and resourcing issues to achieve maximum client satisfaction
• Ongoing prioritisation of work in collaboration with other Regional Development Managers and Group Service Delivery

Experience, Qualifications and Technical Knowledge:
• Demonstrable track record in man management and project delivery
• Strong leadership and delegation skills
• Broad software development experience gained within a commercial environment
• Proven abilities in application design and implementation
• Software related degree level/equivalent
• Demonstrable skills in the design, implementation and optimisation of database schemas
• Experienced in technical specification and documentation
• Ability to develop and enforce business processes for delivery of projects
