Position Description

Reporting to: Group Financial Controller
Salary: 50K
Location Home Counties, Bucks

Purpose of Job:
To provide an efficient and effective control and financial management service to the Group. To ensure the integrity of the Group’s financial accounts and assume responsibility for all statutory accounting.

Principal Accountabilities (responsibilities and duties):
• Producing accurate and timely financial accounts
• Development of Group Finance function: multi-company, international Group reporting, establishment of Group policies and reporting processes, integration of acquisitions
• Ensuring the continual improvement of financial systems and controls and the delivery of process excellence throughout the business
• Production to agreed timelines of all statutory accounts including ownership of all consolidation issues
• Supervision and development of Finance Manager who has responsibility for preparation of accurate and timely UK management accounts
• Ensuring intercompany recharges are controlled and intercompany balances always agree before the finalisation of monthly management accounts
• Periodic review / internal audit of the Group’s foreign finance functions
• Management of all day to day relationships with auditors
• Responsible for all tax compliance issues
• Provide a secure and commercial financial control environment

Key Performance Indicators:
1) Completion on time of half year statements, including full IFRS disclosure
2) Successful completion of all audits with a minimum of audit adjustments
3) Completion and review of all balance sheet accounts for each Group company each month
4) Maintaining the Group’s effective tax rate at below 20%

Decision Making Authority:
Right to flag and to seek to discuss commercially important matters in advance of final positions being reached
Deployment of Finance Manager resource to ensure achievement of accountabilities
Implementation of company policies

Experience, Qualifications and Technical Knowledge:
Degree and/or recognised accounting qualification eg ACA/ACCA
PQE gained within commercial industry, ideally from mid sized IT/technology based, customer facing environment
Leadership ability – proven background of managing and developing finance teams
Strong accounting technical skills
Previous audit experience – preferably via senior role in big four accountancy practice
