The Role
This is a senior role in the Pricing team within Personal LoB Pricing team. The candidate must be confident, having built up an extensive experience of pricing within mobile, ideally across a number of markets. You’ll be expected to take a lead role in the following key team activities:
• Support countries to optimise their pricing decision-making by identifying & recommending appropriate pricing tools and value-based metrics to analyse the performance of their pricing portfolio
• Track & analyse the competitive pricing environment, identifying key threats & opportunities, and recommending response strategies as appropriate
• Build a network of contacts among the operation countries, as a way of ensuring the key goal that best practice in pricing is identified & shared
• Build a network of contacts among other Group functions, to ensure alignment across the different business units, e.g. NExT, Home, ITN6
• Provide consultative support to countries upon request, e.g. price refreshes, new tariff launches
• Support the unlimited / abundance offer governance process
• Provide pricing expertise to Group-led initiatives, e.g. roaming, consumer propositions
This role is based in London.
The Department
The Personal pricing team sits within the Strategy, Pricing and Business Development team, whose EVP reports directly to the EVP Head of Personal LoB. The role of this group is to propose and develop mobile strategies and quantified objectives for the FT Group.
While pricing strategy and management need to be driven locally, the Pricing team at Personal LoB Group level needs to play a critical role in best practice creation & sharing, providing strategic direction to key pricing related challenges and opportunities, and providing strategic analysis frameworks to countries.
The team focuses on five key streams to optimise pricing decisions:
• Tools and capabilities
• Price elasticity analysis
• Optimising pricing mixes & structures
• Yield and margin management
• Base management offers
Must Haves
To be considered for the position you must be able to demonstrate the following:
• Substantial management consultancy or professional (operational) experience of working in a commercially focused role within the telecoms environment, with proven success in Pricing.
• Results orientated, with a track record of successfully implemented programmes. Proven ability to influence business leaders.
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills: Strong ability to make decisions and recommendations applying robust commercial and analytical acumen.
Nice to Haves
It would be great if you could also display:
• MBA (or recognised equivalent) or equivalent experience
• French and other European language skills highly desirable
