OVERVIEW
To act as our client’s senior employee focusing on the delivery of digital products and services to the company’s sites and third party syndication partners. Manage the forward planning, programming and delivery of our client’s products and services. Build effective processes and relationships with regional teams as well as the US-based teams. Ensure that content packages are scheduled and programmed according to regional needs. Act as internal “consultant” on best practices in the Digital Media space. Ensure that regional teams are hitting their traffic targets.

KEY DEPARTMENTAL OBJECTIVES

1. Integrate our client’s processes with processes & leverage efforts in all areas
– Integration of technical, operations, content management, production processes with counterparts in the US
– Streamline and improve operational processes for VOD, online and mobile production
– Effective and efficient use of production resources
– Management of and adaptation of Production and Creative processes across all regions
– As senior interface, take the lead on the Global digitization task force.
– Assist in restructuring efforts in London/Miami and the regions

2. Deliver operational efficiencies and cost savings of $2MM in 2008

3. Develop forward planning and rights and clearances process in conjunction with programming and ad sales
– Development of forward planning processes
– Successful launch of new brands in the portfolio
– Develop an R&C process to ensure our client is represented in rights negotiations

4. Deliver high quality content, applications and services to the regions on time and on budget
– Develop a service-based approach to serve the regions
– Set up content and technical commissioning processes
– Communicate prioritization or requests to ensure in alignment with overall digital strategy & priorities
– Lead regular meetings on forward planning, content/product needs
– Deliver talent to the regions for stunts, programming, marketing (leveraging US efforts)

5. Work with finance to develop useful financial reporting


RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that traffic growth is inline with agreed targets in each region.
• Build a strong matrix team to support local programming of regional sites, third party syndication and adsales support
• Be a senior point of reference for any content, syndication, adsales or content management issues arising
• Together with the regional Directors or Senior Managers of Digital Media and VP Content&Operations own the Programming&Partnerships planning process (working with Ad Sales and Programming) – feeding into the wider company strategy where appropriate
• Approve and maintain the programming plan for Digital Media
• Approve the budgets for all local projects (together with the Digital Media management team)
• Work with the Director of Content to ensure the appropriate changes are made to DCL global content to allow for local deployment
• Compile annual plans and quarterly forecasts
• With Directors of Production and Adsales ensure that our client’s Digital Media regional requirements are built into central production commissioning process
• Support the Business Account team with the financial assessment of production requests (including profit/loss assessment of prior deals)
• With Research interrogate and distribute monthly performance reports
• Provide decision support expertise as required by the management team
• Together with regional Leads, motivate, develop and appraise the Managers of Programming&Partnerships so that their performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business.


ROLE SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

• Proven track record in delivery of content (or comparable products and services)
• Proven track record in strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting
• Extensive understanding of the impact of commercial imperatives on production and programming
• Experience of working with Editorial and Production Management teams
• Experience of working in a matrix framework
• High degree of analytical thinking
• Understanding of both television and digital media technologies (web, iTV, broadband and mobile)
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office,
• Degree level or equivalent professional qualification
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects, with multiple stakeholders
• International experience helpful
• Understanding of right & clearances issues
