OVERVIEW
The Content Syndication Manager is responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of all digital syndication deals for our client at the operational level. The manager will act as the high level technical advisor during negotiations with third parties. The Manager will oversee the delivery of VOD to UK and EMEA partners. In addition, the manager will participate in the costing process of delivery fulfillment for syndication deals.
KEY DEPARTMENTAL OBJECTIVES
1. Integrate our client’s processes with processes & leverage efforts in all
areas
– Integration of technical, operations, content management, production processes with counterparts in the US
– Streamline and improve operational processes for VOD, online and mobile production
– Effective and efficient use of production resources
– Management of and adaptation of Production and Creative processes
1. Deliver operational efficiencies and cost savings of $2MM in 2008
2. Develop forward planning and rights and clearances process in conjunction with programming and ad sales
– Development of forward planning processes
– Successful launch of new brands in the company’s portfolio
– Develop an R&C process to ensure our client is represented in rights negotiations
3. Deliver high quality content, applications and services to the regions on time and on budget
– Develop a service-based approach to serve the regions
– Set up content and technical commissioning processes
– Communicate prioritization or requests to ensure in alignment with our client’s overall digital strategy & priorities
5. Hit traffic and usage targets to drive revenue.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that the content reaches syndication partners as specified, on time and in the correct formats.
• Act as central point of content for delivery issues with syndication partners.
• Act as a point of reference for any content syndication or content delivery issues in the region
• Own and maintain the roll out plan for new products and services
• Oversee the localisation process/deployment of global content packages for syndication
• Support the deal-making process for digital syndication
• With Research and partners collate usage and traffic data
• Manager, develop and appraise the members of the content syndication team.
• Works with the technical support teams to ensure deployment of content happens in a timely fashion and efficient fashion.
• Lead the roll out of the tapeless solution delivery mechanisms in UK/EMEA
• Where necessary manage the video editors to ensure delivery of short form video content
• Act as central point of contact for the regional operations team – working closely to improve technical delivery of digital content
ROLE SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
• Proven track record in delivery of content (or comparable products and services) in the Digital Media space
• Proven track record in planning
• Experience of working with Editorial and Production Management teams
• High level of organisational expertise
• Experience of working in a matrix framework
• High degree of analytical thinking
• Understanding of both television and digital media technologies (web, iTV, broadband and mobile)
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office
• Degree level or equivalent professional qualification
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects, with multiple stakeholders
• International experience helpful
• Understanding of right & clearances issues

KEY KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Editorial and Production Management Experience
Has significant experience of all levels of content production and delivery – in the global environment would be a plus. Understands the different technologies employed to create and deploy content. Excellent project management skills.
Finance Experience
Combines managerial skills and knowledge with financial knowledge and experience in multiple aspects of planning and reporting. Exercises good judgement when making financial decisions.
Oral Communication
Communicates a range of the more complex issues and able to convey a vision and purpose both within the Digital Media organisation and, particularly when working with local stakeholders.
Written Communication
Produces a range of detailed reports, process documents and other written material – with support from Director of Production(SS), Director of Digital Adsales and VP Content&Operations. Uses concise language to explain complex material, findings and/or recommendations. Often draws upon a wide range of data concentrating on key facts and figures in order to prepare plans and communications.
