Job description:

They are looking for an experienced “hands on” CTO, with several years of experience in managing medium size teams in LAMP (Linux-Apache-Mysql-PHP) large scale platforms and applications aimed at the consumer market. He must have a background and very good experience on definition of complex and scalable platform based on APACHE-PHP-MySQL platform to take over the responsibility to refine the architecture and the development of a large internet-mobile community portal with millions of registered users. Our client is looking to expand the site into multiple languages and to add many exciting features to make it the world’s leading site in its field.

You will be the Technology Strategist for our client’s application platform, select and manage in-house and outsourced technical resources, selecting and using the latest technologies (PHP, MySQL and other open-source software). You will be leading the development efforts and coordinate with external developer team. It is essential that you have significant experience with high volume dynamic web sites in order to scale the application into the multi-million registered users category.

Perfect English skills (written and spoken) are mandatory. The position requires extensive traveling between London and Milan where our main offices are.

• Technical Excellence. Created cutting edge technology designs for high volume production use. Capable of sourcing and identifying best solutions\modules in the Open Source Community
• Experience on definition of high traffic web server application (please provide us detailed information about your significative experience on those field)
• Good attitude on work with geographically distributed team
• PHP 4/5 expert (min. 3+ years)
• MySQL architecture experience (load distribution, clustering, etc…)
