Position Description

PRODUCT MANAGER
Core Mobility is searching for a superstar Product Manager to design and manage software for mobile devices. As Product Manager, you are the owner and expert for a product line. Your responsibilities include internally and externally activities, including: product definition and specification, market research, sales assistance, development of marketing collateral and white papers, scheduling, tracking, coordination of project development and deployment through the life cycle of the product.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES –
Project coordination:
o Create product specifications with input from customer, sales, market research and engineering
o Write project plans and schedules
o Work in tandem with engineering in defining milestones and deliverables and to track project
o Develop measurable completion criteria for milestones with final responsibility to accept completion
o Ensure that Engineering teams have identified all dependencies and possible risks
o Manage external dependencies
o Work with Engineering to ensure that resources have been allocated to activities.
o Lead internal status meetings. Assign and track action items.
o Track schedules and identify trends which indicate upcoming schedule risk.
o Identify key project risks and work to mitigate them.
o Lead or Assist Sales with customer-facing meetings
o Manage relationships with the customer product mgr counterparts
o Track all defects and drive them to resolution
o Devise solution to anticipated problems before they occur.
o Communicate project status to executive management
• Customer Management
o Assist Sales in proposal writing including both cost and schedule estimates
o Assist in writing SOWs (Statement of Work)
o Gather requirements from customer
o Get customer feedback and eventual buy-off on requirements and specification documents
o Participate in defect reviews
o Write Change Orders
o Write up Situation Reports and Recommendations for customer and coordinate action plans.
o Assist customer with product launch and deployment
• Product Marketing
o Create Product Data Sheets, White Papers, Competitive Analysis
o Create PowerPoint Product Presentations
o Identify new features for future versions of product
o Conduct and document Cost/Benefit Analysis Studies with customer
REQUIREMENTS
Must have Telecom experience, Wireless Carrier a plus
5+ years of software marketing/product management experience.
Knowledgeable in technology.
Computer Science or Engineering degree or work experience is a strong plus.
This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America (generally no more than 25% of the time).
