Mobile Device Engineer - Pocket Communications

Position Description

Summary:
The Sr. Mobile Device Engineer is responsible for the interface, analysis and implementation of all Mobile Devices within and outside of Pocket Communications’ wireless network.

Responsibilities: For all Handsets and Mobile Devices at Pocket and Pocket designated entities or partners
• Perform technical evaluation of new products, and ensure prompt and appropriate resolution to technical issues.
• Manage day-to-day technical interaction with OEMs and Distributor Technical Teams
• Devise and Manage Operator Acceptance Process for all mobile and fixed Network Terminal devices
• Maintain product issues in an internal defect tracking system
• Participate in cross function project teams to ensure on-time delivery of terminal products and that they meet the operator requirements
• Negotiate operator’s position on product feature enhancement, maintenance releases and defect resolution.
• Guide internal teams in creating successful strategies that meets business needs of the operator for all mobile terminals
• Responsible for tracking and testing all mobile terminals and accessories received from various OEMs and Distributors
• Validate and perform all tests on mobile and fixed terminals for:
1. SMS
2. MMS
3. Data Content
4. Java testing
5. WAP testing
6. Web Interface testing
• Validate and perform all testing and creating and managing all PRI, PRL.
• Perform all testing of various Software releases of Mobile and or fixed Terminal and other devices
• Must be able to interface with various pocket 3rd party vendors for content management and problem resolution as well as testing.
• Be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines

Requirements:
• BS in Computer Engineering or BSCS or BSEE
• 2 years experience in the Handset Department as a developer, trouble shooter of an OEM (Motorola, Kyocera, Samsung, LG etc.)
• Full knowledge and at least 2 year experience on building PRI on various mobile and fixed terminal devices
• Full knowledge and at least 2 year experience on building PRL on various mobile and fixed terminal devices for operators and managing and building new PRLs with Roaming partner requirements
• Good organizational and follow up skills.
• Be able to work under stress and aggressive deadlines to achieve results.
• Have the ability to learn new systems and processes extremely fast.
