Operations/Servicing, Merchant Services, GCO.
This position is responsible for the ideation, evaluation and development of emerging payment devices and methods initiated by the Cardless Payments team.
Cardless Payments is responsible for positioning the American Express Company for success in payment products and services that move beyond the card plastic and magnetic stripe while complementing American Express’ traditional charge and credit card products. The group is responsible for market research, product testing and partnership development to identify new business models in this exciting new payments arena.
The incumbent will be an integral member of the Cardless Payments Capabilities team and will manage the end-to-end product development process for select payment devices and methods. One key focus area for the group is in the area of commerce and payments facilitated through a mobile phone. This includes defining product concepts, leading the creation of business requirements for the technical and operational infrastructure and managing the development lifecycle through to implementation.

The successful candidate will be dynamic and have demonstrated success in the

Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to rapid change and quickly identify salient focal points
Relationship management and communication skills to liaise effectively between a broad base of internal and external constituents
Leading highly visible projects with multiple and simultaneous workstreams
Fluent in emerging technologies, an early adapter, and passionate about new
technologies and their application to payments
Demonstrate innovation in the areas of mobile and/or online commerce
Communicating and presenting to all levels of management
Strong written communication skills
Entrepreneurial drive and prior experience in online, mobile and/or consulting a plus
