Position Description
Our client is a large handset manufacturer in the Dallas area and is in desperate need of a Linker Loader Expert! The candidate will be working with a team of engineers in developing a new – space optimized, secure linker for wireless phones. This linker will be for the ARM CPU and will augment or supplant the existing vendor provided linker.
Qualifications:
Five or more years of software engineering experience desired
Required Skills:
Demonstrate expertise/experience in static/dynamic linker technologies. Preferably, candidate must have written major portions of a static or dynamic linker.
Thorough understanding of various types of “relocation”
Contributed to open source linker/loader tools, the code must be publicly available for review (scrutiny) to determine candidate’s skill level.
Strong working knowledge of GNU binutils and compiler tool chain internals (or other similar compiler, assembler, linker technologies)
Expert knowledge of ARM CPU, ARM Assembly language
Expert C/C++ programmer with deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms and their appropriate use
Experience with RTOS is a plus, but not required.
Candidate must possess strong cross platform skills—i.e., programs written by candidates must work on Windows and Unix platforms with identical functionality.
Candidate must be able to communicate technical ideas in a clear and un-ambiguous manner to other technical (and possibly non-technical) personnel
Education:
M.S. degree is preferred in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent
