Position Description
Summary of Position:
The Business Wireless Program Manager will be the Subject Matter Expert maintaining current product knowledge of the wireless network, infrastructure, and product platform activities for the benefit of Cox Business, and be able to translate that knowledge into implications for the business support processes, overall business plan and product lifecycle management.
Perform day-to-day interaction with Cox Business product/project sponsor(s) on initiatives being developed and launched. Ability to lead, motivate and manage large cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
Responsible for all aspects of project management, including but not limited to task management, action plans, cross-functional team management, and launch and/or implementation activities as wells as cross-company and inter-company coordination with wireless operator partners.
Coordinate budget/cost management implications, including accurately tracking project resource allocation and monitoring variances against budget.
Responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of network infrastructure and platforms, service enhancements, process improvement initiatives and/or operations risk mitigation strategies.
The Business Wireless Program Manager will accomplish the above tasks by:
Proactive identification, analysis, resolution and communication of operational issues (e.g. network, technical and service) impacting corporate and field organizations.
Developing cost effective practices and processes that make products and services more valuable for the customer, more manageable for the employee and more profitable for the company.
Coordinating closely with product/project sponsors in order to define project scope, requirements, development, and allocate the necessary resources for the successful completion of each project within budget and timelines.
Building strong working relationships with multi-faceted teams internal to Cox Communications, including but not be limited to Business Product Development, Business Product Operations, Residential Product Development, Engineering, Operations, MIS, Marketing, Public Relations, Legal/Regulatory, Customer Care, Training, markets and vendor partners.
Coordinating closely with wireless operator and cable industry partners to collaborate where appropriate.
Position Responsibilities:
Serve as Cox Business point person for resolving critical cross-functional issues through matrix-managed resources.
Execute the project planning process to support the implementation of services and resolution of cross-functional network, MIS and operational support issues.
Ensure the successful completion of the product life-cycle management process, on time and within budget.
Assist with development of operational requirements for new processes and products.
Develop, implement and maintain initial and ongoing operating practices, performance metrics and processes required to lead product life-cycle management.
Analyze, maintain and revise existing practices and processes to drive operational efficiencies.
Facilitate ad hoc analyses and product/project post mortems in order to gauge best practices.

Qualifications:
Requires minimum 8-10 years of Product Management, Project Management or Program Management experience in Telecommunications, Cable or other related Industry.
Possess strong planning capabilities, communications skills and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively influence team members through consensus building and ability to get results through others.
Must be able to interface with team members from various disciplines including: business product operations, engineering, marketing, public relations, finance, legal, MIS, and field system personnel. Must be able to interface effectively with external vendors and industry peers.
Knowledge of wireless industry, specifically business applications, and experience with managing projects is preferable.
Capacity for strategic thinking and business development.
Willingness to travel 10% – 25% of the time.
BS or BA degree required or comparable business experience required.
MBA preferred.
Project Management Institute Certification a plus Ability to manage multiple, large to very large-scale projects at one time.
Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong initiative and the ability to drive projects to completion with limited supervision.
Understand and implement process improvement methodologies.
