About the company:

Our client, a leading publisher / distributor of casual online video games, headquartered in the US, and with offices in Seattle, Europe and Asia, is looking for a Community Manager based in their London office who is savvy in community trends, social networking sites and familiar with casual games.


About the role:

The successful candidate will manage our existing and up-coming white-label communities. The Community Manager will be an avid casual gamer, able to take the pulse of the members of the community, and actively create content, programs and drive enhancements to the product offering. The role requires enthusiasm and initiative, a deep awareness and understanding of existing methods for community development, and a desire to innovate in order to achieve the best possible results. The Community Manager will increase member interaction in the community, increase the frequency and length of member visits, and drive overall member satisfaction.
Willingness to work across projects and to learn about the subject areas they pertain to.
-Ability to articulate and implement promotions, communications strategies and new features.
-Proven experience in growing online game communities.
-Good written and verbal communication skills – you will be responsible for compiling copy for newsletters, articles, polls, etc.
-Excellent numerical and analytical skills
-A working knowledge of Web Design

Other Duties:

-Define a clear community development plan for sign-off from directors.
-Develop deep understanding of partner site demographics and end-user activity to define criteria for game promotion and merchandising
-Develop online merchandising strategy and calendar along with Marketing Team, Partnership Management, our Game Developer Relationship Team and the Partner
Work closely with creative/production team to develop image, content, features, promos and landing pages within website to drive stickiness
-Analyze and report results of merchandising efforts and use findings to support improvements to game merchandising strategy
-Manage retention and churn programs for customers/subscribers

Qualifications:

-Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
-Strong working knowledge of online fundamentals
-Proven analytical skills, including interpreting site analytics.
-Proven experience within the entertainment sector
-Further European languages advantageous
-Avid casual gamer
-Comfortable with basic HTML; experienced with admin or content management systems
-Analytical and marketing background preferred so can optimize programs and community experience
