Data Architect/ Data Modeler - Disys Corp

Position Description

We are currently seeking an Data Warehouse Data Architect Contractor for our Richardson client. Their Data Management Team is responsible for the architecture, configuration, development, and support of their enterprise data warehouse.






Job Purpose:



* Be responsible for assisting in and overseeing design, development, implementation, and support of solutions for the corporate data warehouse including ETL (extract, transform, and load) routines, tables, views, stored procedures, and various report outputs
* The core focus of this contract will be the support of design/modification of the data warehouse to integrate our client’s new billing platform
* A key objective to this position will be to support the integration of the new billing system into the data warehouse and create a new model to support this new billing system
* Be responsible for being an architect over the data warehouse activities which include: working with the user community to understand new data sources and architect how this data is incorporated into the data warehouse, developing data cubes off of the enterprise data warehouse, maintain the data warehouse cross reference tables, work with vendors to understand external data sources and how they fit into the enterprise data warehouse
* Be responsible for supporting custom and packaged applications
* Develop automated customer facing reports, produce custom analytical reports, Web enabled solutions, and financial and operational reports
* Develop and/or oversee the development of complex application code that will meet functional requirements of users and system specifications of technical architects



Requirements



Important Experience:

1. Wireless Telecom Experience

2. Telecom Billing (Amdocs, Singl.eview, Arbor, Portal, Or Verisign)

3. Data Architecture/ Data Warehousing





Required Skills:
DW Data Architect Qualifications:

* 5-7 years of experience working as a Data Architect for corporate data warehouses, preferably on an SQL Server platform
* Experience with a wireless provider (a plus)
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience
* 5-7 years of business requirements analysis and end-user interaction
* 5-7 years of application development and customization experience
* 7-9 years of user support experience
* Experience in implementing and supporting solutions, standards, and processes in an end-user support role
* Excellent end-user interface and interaction skills
* Strong, up-to-date, technology skills in a variety of technologies (especially data warehouse reporting tools, financial based applications, and MS/SQL)
* Must be able to operate with a limited amount of supervision

Candidates with the following desired skill sets will fast-track to an interview:

* Experience in the wireless telecom space
* Experience with an Amdocs billing platform
* Microsoft SSIS tool experience (required)
* Reporting tool experience with solutions such as Microsoft Reporting Services, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Cognos, etc.
