Position Description
Senior Consultant (Device Specialist)
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
• Lead / work closely with Project Lead and provide strategic advice on engagements focused on mobile device procurement, certification/testing, device innovation, open access, etc.
• Serve as a thought leader in the area of mobile devices – generate white papers, speak at industry events, etc.
• Provide high quality advice to clients on device portfolio, product development, emerging technologies, and value added services
• Provide support to engagements focused on providing technology advice re: platform selection, vendor selection, spectrum utilization, RF technologies (GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, WiMAX iDEN, etc.) and device selection.
• Maintain close client contact to deliver high quality advice, deliverables, build relationships, and initiate sales.
• Create business plans and models, marketing strategies and studies, distribution and supply chain metrics and project/implementation plans.
• Provide subject matter expertise to clients as well as the rest of VeriSign; the candidate will drive development and learning within VeriSign.
Qualifications
• 4+ years wireless, IT, high tech industry, and/or consulting experience
• 2+ years working on teams to provide project management to customers in wireless, financial modeling, business planning, market research or related fields
• 2 + years in device procurement, logistics, or product development
• Expertise in iDEN ,Backhaul, access, transport, switching, WiMAX , 3G and/or 4G
• Deep wireless industry skills, including mobile content productization, convergence, services, and platforms
• Ability to supervise a small team
• Bachelor degree; economics, business or finance majors preferred, EE, CS,CE degree a plus
• MBA or equivalent experience a plus
