Position Description
Position Overview
Responsible for cradle-to-grave product management of a wireless product line such as broadband or data services. Help develop ideas for new product for our consumers, the fastest growing consumer segment in the industry!
Essential Functions
Evaluate product and vendor options and make a recommendation to Sr. Product Manager to fit with company strategy. Manage vendor SOW and align this to Cricket product requirements.
Identify opportunities through collaborative work with the research team to understand customer interest, identify the target market and size the business opportunity.
Develop the business case for the product, track marketplace performance vs. expectations, analyze performance, and communicate results. Drive action plans to reach product goals and communicate to senior management.
Identify product, business and system requirements and drive the project through the product realization process.
Manage and drive cross-functional project teams and ensure time, cost and quality measures are achieved. Ensure the communication of regular updates regarding progress and cost to department management, project team members and other internal teams as appropriate.
Responsible for developing and managing product trials, executing and managing vendor relationships.
Ensure marketing support, and drive development and delivery of appropriate sales and care training in support of product lifecycle.
Ensure back office (billing, provisioning, and customer service) requirements are defined and in place for product launch.
Be the advocate for your product in all corporate and field interactions to educate employees and customers on the value proposition of your product, benefits of use and future evolution.
Routinely measure the performance of the products against financial metrics, operational metrics and technical performance and recommend lifecycle changes to bring performance in line with goals.
Education:
BS or BA in EE, CS, Marketing or related discipline or equivalent work experience required
MBA preferred
Industry Experience:
Understand three of the following industry standards ( HTML, WAP, POP3, IMAP, SIP, VOIP, IMS) is required
Experience in wireless telecom, mobile applications, digital content or internet service strongly preferred
Job Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years experience in product management or product development of service or consumer based products (wireless, internet services).
Must have strong familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for product management and must possess at least one year experience in managing large/complex projects.
Must have good written and verbal communications skills.
Must have proficiency in using MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications.
