Position Description
The Technical Product Manager, Eagle ISS is responsible for ensuring that the front-end technical needs for the Eagle 5 Intergtrated Signaling System, are met or exceeded.
This Product Manager will be responsible for technical aspects of the Eagle ISS product family. this includes, but is not limited to, technical expertise in the following areas; SS7 over IP(Sigtran, traditional SS7, North American and International Number Portability, core wireless networks, next generation network technologies (e.g. ENUM, SIP)
Responsibilities include: Technical sales and marketing support.
Supporting the Business Plans, Internal Plans of Record (POR), External Product Plans, External Roadmaps, Feature Commitment Tracking, RFF Process.
Providing Technical Product Management input to Tekelec’s VAR’s, OEMs and Partners.
Supporting day-to-day processes of feature reconciliation, field trial determination, business case generation, RFx response input, and quote approval.
Understanding the competitive landscape and market opportunities for Tekelec in this area.
In the performance of these duties applicant will interface with Customers, Sales, Marketing(Corporate, Commercial and Product), Product Line Managers, R&D Customer Service, Business Development, Manufacturing and Cross-BU Teams.
Position requires demonstrated leadership in and direct supervision of technical aspects of product planning activities. Will require travel to work closely with customers and sales teams for technical/business assessment and analysis of new and existing business opportunities as well as support future product roadmaps based on technical/market requrements. Other duties as assigned.
Summary of Qualifications:
Requires as MS or BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years demonstrated successful related experience including management oand business/technical leadership experience. Must have excellent communication, leadership and facilitator skills. Must have the ability to solve business, technical as well as logistical problems. Must possess a working knowledge of telecommunication systems and IMS. Familiarity with the cable operator business is also highly desirable. Also requires the ability to work with others, the ability to communicate, and the ability to foster teamwork. Must possess good written and oral communications skills and the ability to interface with various leveles of customers and internal Tekelec personnel for all aspects of the products.
