SUMMARY:

Position Summary:
Responsible for software design and maintenance of all existing Geolocation software with eventual project leadership responsibilities. Additional work ie: data analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, writing requirements across all projects supported by the Product Development group.
Essential Job Functions:
Design, code and test highly reliable application software written in Java using latest development methods such as OSGi, Spring and Hibernate.
- As required, design, code and test embedded software written in C and C++ for QNX and Solaris, Linux. Trouble-shoot and debug software defects. Senior professionals will head multi-person teams and set an example for junior engineers and serve as a mentor.
- Relate new product ideas to software solutions;
- Work well in team environment;
- Adhere to software design and implementation standards and set same example for others.
Education and Experience:
Education/Training:
Minimum of BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Experience:
- Five years of experience with Java using threads in a team environment required.
- Three years of programming experience with C/C++ on Solaris, Unix or Linux using threads preferred.
- Expertise in Perl, Python, Korn shell scripting preferred.
- Five years experience with TCP/IP, networking and socket-based programming preferred.
- Five years experience with source code control such as Perforce and CVS required.
- Familiarity with GSM/UMTS protocols and/or cellular phone networks.
