Position Description
Responsible for the support, design and implementation of Network Architecture.
The candidate will take a lead role in managing major network initiatives, designs, and deployments as well as coordinating technical issues with clients, vendors, and internal teams. The position reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Work with business, functional, application team and clients to define and analyze business and technical requirements for various levels of project complexity. Complete current state (failure point) analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation. Participate in the infrastructure design and infrastructure selection processes as voice of business user. Participate in the creation of project plans and communicate status to all levels of management. Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
Technical Job Requirements:
• Provide expert level troubleshooting and analytical skills and will serve as a point person to work through a problem to its resolution.
• Provide detailed and effective communication to internal and external clients.
• Identify support tools and work through integration life cycle (evaluation, selection, integration, support hand-off)
• Provide network design documents and presentations (PowerPoint and Visio)
• Create, coordinate, and execute implementation plans.
• Hands on experience with Networking Products, Equipment and Software, Cisco (3750, ASA 5500, CSS 11000), Juniper Networks (SSGs), F5 (LTM 1500, 3400)
• Expert knowledge in LAN to LAN IPSEC VPN tunnels a must have
• Experience with developing complex network designs and solutions for both enterprise and ASP networks
• Experience with a wide range of WAN/LAN Network Topologies (Bundling techniques, TDM, D©WDM, Ethernet, SONET, Wireless)
• Expert Knowledge of IP networking (NAT, TCP/IP, Multicast, etc.)
• Hands on experience with implementing and integrating Routing Protocols (RIP/EIGRP/BGP/OSPF)
• Expert Knowledge of Layer 2 & 3 Switching
• Working knowledge of Internet routing (BGP), DNS, and security
• Understanding of layered network designs and hierarchal network infrastructure models
• Working knowledge of LINUX/UNIX Operating Systems
• Experience in cellular phone based carriers a plus
• This is a 24×7 operational position; carrying a pager is required
