Position Description
Intuit is creating a New Mobile Engineering team. We will be seeking someone that has a passion for the mobile world. These are some of the roles we are looking for Staff Applications Engineer, Mobile Internet Engineer, and Mobile Internet Services Engineer.
Primary Responsibilities: Design and implement mobile websites and mobile Internet destinations (portals, widget platforms, etc…), compatible with multiple mobile browsers, and appropriate for multiple handset types.
Work closely with multiple product development teams to scope, plan, and take hands-on ownership for the delivery the mobile web components of a product offering.
Work closely with Product and Business Unit Management to vet 3rd parties and other service and application vendors, with regard to technologies, products and services that may impact the mobile web components of a product offering.
Collaborate with a multi-functional mobile development team to build robust, next-generation, shared mobile infrastructure
Qualifications: B.S. in Computer Science
M.S. in Computer Science preferred
Seeking 3+ years in mobile Internet development or, in addition to 5+ years in web development for desktop browsers.
- Fluency with the following mobile Internet standards/technologies:
- User-Agent strings
- WML, CHTML, XHTML,
- ECMAScript (JavaScript),
- CSS
- Extensive exposure to the following Internet technologies:
- Servlet container and templating technologies (JBoss, Spring, Velocity, JSP)
- Relational Database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
- Database Persistence technologies (Hibernate)
- Experience with content management systems, content trans-coding processes and tools, and content trans-coding infrastructure
- Demonstrated excellence (with a portfolio) in developing, compelling, high-quality, maintainable, and easy-to-navigate mobile websites, flexible enough to appear properly on multiple handset types
- Thorough exposure to operator/carrier requirements for mobile Internet properties and to mobile development best practices
- Experience in full life-cycle development (requirements, design, source control, bug tracking, QA, remote testing/debugging, documentation)
- Experience in developing mobile websites for three or more of the following browsers are essential: Opera Mobile/Opera Mini Experience with the following is a plus:

Candidate should be able to thoroughly discuss the design and implementation of a complete, non-trivial mobile web application
