Antenna Designer

POSITION SUMMARY
In this position, you will be part of the Research and Development team for design, testing and/or characterization, and development of antenna solutions for CDMA/GSM/UMTS/Bluetooth/WiFi/ and GPS. This successful candidate will work with Hardware, Radio Frequency (RF), and mechanical engineering teams to validate Antenna solutions for cellular products.
• Will work in a team environment at all phases from concept design to final products.
• Will develop engineering prototypes for RIM’s new products and work with mechanical designer, PCB designer, audio and Industrial designer to optimize the antenna performance.
• Good understanding of electromagnetic and antenna fundamentals
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• BSEE/MSEE
• 5+ years experience with the design, prototype and test of mobile handset antennas
• TRP/TIS/SAR optimization across a variety of devices
• Knowledge of multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) operation in handsets
• Experience with design and simulation tools: HFSS, Ansoft Designer, MATLAB
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Understanding of RF compliance requirements
• Hands on skills for RF matching and antenna prototype development
