EnStream LP is a joint venture company owned by Bell Canada, Rogers, and Telus – Canada’s three largest mobile communications companies. Overview
We are seeking a Director of Product Development to lead our product development and service delivery activities for our mobile commerce business.
Primary Responsibilities
• Define the product strategy, tactical direction and roadmap to support our three lines of business: over-the-air payment services, Near Field Communication (NFC) services and mobile wallet services
• Contribute to strategic decisions on product positioning, pricing, business model, alliances and technology
• Analyze mobile payment industry trends and competing technology to ensure our products lead the industry
• Work with our carrier partners to define business and product requirements for mobile payment services
• Work with credit card associations, financial institutions, mobile operators and other partners on product development initiatives
• Oversee the P&L for all product lines
• Understand the risk and returns for each payment product or feature
• Build and manage an outstanding product development team of highly talented product managers, business analysts and user interface designers
• Implement processes and best practices for product development, requirements definition, prototyping, and launch of services
• Oversee the development of detailed specifications for mobile payment products/features. After requirements are specified and agreed upon by various stakeholders, work with the internal program management, technology group and external business partners to create an implementation and service delivery plan
• Address user experience, function and usability issues through testing, focus groups and trials
• Facilitate collaboration between different functional groups on product design, financial modeling, marketing, project planning and implementation
• Provide bottoms-up feedback to the management team on product development initiatives
• Assist with the development of the company’s intellectual property strategy and patent portfolio
Requirements
• Undergraduate degree required. MBA is a plus
• Must have served as Director/VP of Product Development for a financial institution, mobile payments company, e-commerce business, or Trusted Services Manager (TSM)
• Successful track record designing innovative electronic payment products/services from early adoption through market share leadership
• Experience with smart card and Near Field Communication (NFC) technologies a plus
• Knowledge of SIM/UICC technology and Over-The-Air (OTA) management/personalization in a mobile carrier environment a plus
• Must be able to personally deliver outstanding presentations at key meetings and business conferences. Must have experience developing white papers, speeches, PowerPoint presentations and other materials geared toward the needs of specific opportunities and audiences.
