Position Description

Senior Web Developer

TapSlide is looking for a high-energy, dedicated senior web developer and architect with strong experience in Ruby on Rails and/or Java/JSP for an innovative distributed online/mobile platform. The individual in this position will be responsible for driving web service architecture, hands-on development, coding, testing and technical documentation.

The ideal candidate will need to have proficiency in the following areas:

2+ years in web development for high volume sites with experience with open source technologies.
Experience developing a new site’s information architecture and navigation system to optimize usability. Ability to create wire frames (site diagrams and user interface schematics).
Hands-on experience with DHTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, Ajax, Ruby on Rails or Java/JSP, SQL and data modeling. Expert knowledge of Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP a bonus
Sound knowledge of DNS, HTTP, SSL, caching, CDNs, clustered web service architectures and web service performance testing.
Experience with WebTrends or equivalent site analytics product.
Experience and familiarity with monitoring systems.
Proven experience with security (logging, authentication, content encryption) and high availability of web services.
Familiarity with agile methodologies such as TDD, SCRUM.
Strong verbal, written, communication and organizational skills
Able to work as an individual and within teams in a dynamic, multi-tasking early-stage environment

Preferred:

Experience with SEO/Analytics a plus
Experience with Flash and Flex-2 a plus

Colorado residents are preferred, but we are willing to consider off-site positions or relocation options for someone with the right skills and experience.
