Position Description

CommScope, a world leader in cable and connectivity solutions for communications Networks, has immediate openings for Internal Auditors at our Corporate office in Hickory, NC. Responsibilities will involve conducting operational, financial, and compliance audit projects; providing consulting services to the organization’s management and staff; and providing key input to development of the annual audit plan. The successful candidates work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment. This position will include 50 – 60% travel, both domestically and internationally.

General Summary:
Performs complex level professional internal auditing work. Work involves leading or conducting operational, financial, and compliance audit projects; providing consulting services to the organization’s management and staff; providing key input to development of the annual audit plan; and providing training and coaching to internal audit staff. Maintains all organizational and professional ethical standards. Works independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing audit procedures, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting client processes and procedures
- Conducts interviews, reviews documents, develops and administers audit programs, composes summary memos, and prepares working papers
- Identifies, develops, and documents audit issues and recommendations using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed
- Communicates or assists in communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations to management
- Develops and maintains productive relationships with management and other internal audit staff through individual contact and group meetings
- Pursues professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers
- Represents internal audit on organizational project teams and at management meetings
- Provides or assists in providing training, coaching, and guidance to internal audit staff in conducting audits and other audit-related issues
- Performs related work as assigned by internal audit management.
- Exercises discretion in the review of records to ensure confidentiality of all matters that come to his/her attention
- Travels for extended periods (4 weeks) to foreign locations where, in some cases, English may not be the first language

Job Specifications:
Grade 8: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration and 2-5 years of related experience or 0-2 years related experience with CPA required.
Grade 9: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration and 5-8 years of related experience or 2-5 years related experience with CPA required.
Grade 10: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration and 8+ years of related experience or 5+ years related experience with CPA required.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and work well with people
- Above average IT knowledge
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Skill in using a computer with word processing, spreadsheet and other business software to prepare reports, memos, summaries and analyses with preference given to familiarity with Microsoft products and the ACL data interrogation software
- Foreign language skills a plus with preference given to French or Portuguese &n

- A Bachelor’s degree is required. Accounting, Business Administration or related degree is preferred.
- A CPA certification, CPA Candidate status, or CIA Certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years accounting, audit, and/or business analysis experience OR a CPA and 1 year accounting, audit, and/or business analysis experience is required.
- Must be willing to travel extensively, for up to 4 weeks at a time, both domestically and internationally.
- Public accounting experience is preferred.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Foreign language skills are highly desired.
- Strong working knowledge of ACL, Idea, or other data interrogation software is preferred.
