Position Description
CommScope, a world leader in cable and connectivity solutions for communications Networks, has an immediate opening for a Business Intelligence Programmer Analyst. This position will entail responsibilities involving Database design (dimension modeling) and ETL tasks. The successful candidate will proactively pursue data quality issues, and collaborate with business users and the application development team to resolve the data quality issues. Candidate will also be responsible for providing direction to the users in regards to business intelligence initiatives and report development as well as assisting in the coaching and training of customers in the use of business intelligence tools to enhance business decision making capability.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Translate business requirements into logical and physical data models that support customer analytical and reporting demands.
- Develop a mapping document from source system data elements to target system (data warehouse) elements with proper transformation rules. Work with business users and source system experts to define the transformation rules.
- Develop an ETL solution as per the mapping document adhering to enterprise development standards.
- Investigate data quality issues reported by users and present a detailed data analysis to business users.
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality of the BI data warehouse.
- Responsible for performance tuning assistance on all data pull/queries.Work with developers to assist in maintaining and creating systems based on existing architecture and environments to solve business issues.
- Production On Call responsibility.
Ideal Candidates will posses the following qualifications:
- Bachelors degree. Technical course of study preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in IBM DataStage ETL tool or any other ETL tool.
- Strong experience in Oracle Pl-SQL and stored procedure writing.
- Experience with database modeling using Embarcadero ER Studio / ERWin.
- Experience in analyzing, collecting and producing business requirements.
- Experience with proper indexing, tuning queries, writing and tuning stored procedures
Anticipates, identifies and defines problems. Seeks root causes. Develops and implements practical and timely solutions.
- Applies quality assurance, testing concepts, and methodologies. Constructs comprehensive test plans based on a thorough understanding of business requirements. Imparts confidence that a product optimally fulfills customers’ expectations. Ensures the collected data is within required quality standards. Maintain the quality of Metadata Repository by adding, modifying, and deleting data.
- Extensive experience participating in client meetings and conducting detailed interviews to solicit user requirements.
- Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
- Experience using a development methodology, including project planning and estimating.
- Team player, flexible, detail oriented, self-starter.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at a time.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
