Position Description
Boost Mobile is a division of Sprint Corporation (NYSE: S) that offers wireless phones and services with no contracts, credit checks or activation fees. Major Responsibilities
• Implement regional community relations initiatives to build a positive reputation and local relevance for Boost Mobile. Initiatives need to give heart and soul to Boost in the community and speak to our company values
• Identify local market charity partners and maintain positive working relationships
• Collaborate with Regional Media Relations Specialist to drive local news coverage for charitable efforts
• Establish Boost as a good corporate citizen, and build goodwill in the minds of today’s customers, employees, the media, strategic partners, potential critics and the community as a whole
• Enhance employee culture and satisfaction with Boost Mobile
• Integrate community relations into regional marketing programs
• Serve as community relations local market spokesperson
• Corporate Giving Specialist, under the direction of the Corporate Giving Manager, prepares and coordinates the organization’s charitable activities.
• Provides information to employees concerning the various types of charitable organizations and programs.
• Tactical activities include, but are not limited to managing:
o Charitable Event Support
o Phone & Service Donations or Loans
o Financial Contributions
o Cause-Related Marketing Campaigns
o Use of Social Media
o Community Partnerships
o Phone Recycling Program
• Communicates the corporate image through researching, writing and editing, press releases, white papers, speeches, internal communications, online communications and other related documents.
• Develops and executes tactical PR plans.
• Handles media inquires, creates media opportunities and works with public relations agencies.
• Fully experienced professional working on problems of complex scope.
• Leverage detailed knowledge of the structure and editorial positions of the consumer and mainstream media.
Minimum Qualifications
• Three to five years of professional work experience in public relations and community relations/corporate citizenship programs, and, or activities
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
• Proactive, action oriented, excellent oral and written communications skills
• Must be a self-starter, able to work autonomously with minimal guidance and be flexible and operate efficiently in a teamwork environment, as well as be able to work independently. Must also have the ability to work with diverse teams both internally and externally.
