Position Description
Boost Mobile is a division of Sprint Corporation (NYSE: S) that offers wireless phones and services with no contracts, credit checks or activation fees. Major Responsibilities
• Use social media to monitor, respond and engage the information being propagated about Boost products and the Boost brand to form deeper loyalties with key stakeholders beyond traditional “paid” marketing.
• Maximize Boost Mobile’s interaction with, and use of, all forms of social media applications, including Blogs, Social Networking sites, chat rooms/discussion boards, wikis, RSS Feeds, Pod-Casts/Vodcasts, Newsgroups, ListServes, Virtual Worlds, People-finder tools, widgits, and organic search engine optimization for Google, Yahoo, Flickr, Twitter, Digg, Technorati, and more.
• Optimize product launch news releases for search engines & social media consumption
• Promote the Boost brand to social media consumers by: Augmenting the effectiveness of existing marketing efforts by leveraging pre-captured content, for editing and placement on blogs, social networking sites, search engines, and creation of Pod-Casts/Vodcasts and more.
• Lead efforts to capture, edit and distribute new, video, audio and photography footage of brand marketing activities for placement on blogs, social networking sites, search engines, and creation of Pod-Casts/Vodcasts, and more
• Manage content selection and distribution of weekly Boost RSS feed
• Attract potential brand advocates and consumers who would not have had the opportunity to attend or engage by bringing events to where they are (online).
• Provide additional legs to local events we are already a part of and have already committed budget towards – entertain, engage, and attract online consumer in text programs, product/service offers and updates when view/share content, drive to BM.com
• Show consumers Boost’s brand personality that they have not yet seen in the 30/60 sec national TV commercials.
• Collaborate with Customer Operations to establish and maintain a process that appropriately addresses and responds to high profile customer complaints posted on blogs, social networking sites, chat rooms, discussion boards, wikis, pad-casts/vodcasts, newsgroups, virtual worlds and more.
• Build positive relationships with Boost customers by interacting with, and using, all forms of social media applications.
• Communicates the corporate image through researching, writing and editing, press releases, white papers, speeches, internal communications, online communications and other related documents.
• Develops and executes tactical PR plans.
• Handles media inquires, creates media opportunities and works with public relations agencies.
• Fully experienced professional working on problems of complex scope.
Minimum Qualifications
• Three to five years of professional work experience in public relations/social media programs, and, or activities
• Proven success and expertise in forms of social media including: blogs, RSS feeds, social network sites, wikis, etc.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
• Proactive, action oriented, excellent oral and written communications skills
• Must be a self-starter, able to work autonomously with minimal guidance and be flexible and operate efficiently in a teamwork environment, as well as be able to work independently. Must also have the ability to work with diverse teams both internally and externally.
