Position Description
Boost Mobile is a division of Sprint Corporation (NYSE: S) that offers wireless phones and services with no contracts, credit checks or activation fees. Boost is among the most popular prepaid wireless brands in the U.S. and now has 4.4 million customers – the majority of which are 18 to 34 years old. Major Responsibilities
• Communicates Boost Mobile’s corporate image as the prepaid category leader to the media and analyst communities through researching, writing and editing, press releases, white papers, speeches, online communications and other related documents.
• Develops and executes tactical PR plans.
• Handles media and analyst inquiries, creates exposure opportunities and works with public relations agencies.
• Develops and coordinates external communications activities. Implements policies and programs to increase external awareness and knowledge of Boost Mobile’s products, activities and programs.
• Responsible for the tactical and operational implementation of the overall communications plan relative to specific lines of business.
• Oversees the draft, approval and circulation of press releases, media alerts, pitch letters and media kits in support of these campaigns.
• Creates pitch reports for meetings with executives, develop briefing books for those interviews and conduct follow up with the media to ensure placement.
• Leverages relationships to secure analyst endorsement of Boost Mobile in business press and telecomm trade publications stories, as well as placement in research reports about wireless industry segmentation specifically focused on prepaid.
• Attends and oversees special events in support of those initiatives as a company representative.
• Position requires a detailed knowledge of the structure and editorial positions of the trade and general media, as well as the analyst community.
• Participates in the development of functional strategy and planning.
Minimum Qualifications
• Fully experienced professional working on problems of complex scope
• 3-5 years of professional public relations experience at an agency or in-house department
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Experience in communication project planning, and implementation
• Familiarity with multiple communications media
