Purpose of Role:
The primary purpose of the role is to support the Head of Commercial Trading to deliver maximum return from the all investments made to acquire and retain Consumer PAYG customers across all channels.
This will involve developing and maintaining management tools (forecasts, actual vs. target, external benchmarks) to enable quick and sensible actions in a quickly evolving environment. In addition will provide analysis in the evaluation of all commercial opportunities.
The role involves working closely with the Commercial Managers within the PAYG Commercial Team and the Sales & Commercial Finance directorates.
Main Activities:
Pricebook maintenance
Develop pricebook proposals to achieve budget and proposition targets, manage investment efficiency and address emerging connection and value trends. Manage process from completion of pricebook templates, monthly channel pricebook meetings and commission issue resolution.
Performance Support through weekly performance forecasting against budget, weekly handset RRP vs cost tracker to identify potential NAC performance issues, weekly market RRP tracker and ad-hoc MIDAS reporting on volume and SAC/SRC performance.
Managing deal sign-offs by running the weekly Orange Retail and Indirect channels meetings. Evaluating and modelling the new terms, presenting the recommendation, explaining the rationale for sign-off to Commercial Managers and Commercial Finance.
Quarterly ranging and framework agreements evaluate and model new range and new framework terms for recommendation to optimise customer investment and maximise profitability.
Non-SAC investment
Evaluate commercials behind Manufacturer support funds, Direct Marketing investment, Channel Marketing spend and sales promotions for sign off. Review performance of all non-SAC investment levers for improved future decision making.
Develop, updating and maintaining investment planning and optimisation tools to support investment optimisation decision making based on channel, handset, MSF, CMF, Comms spend.
Support Head of Commercial Trading and Commercial Managers in financial modelling and analysis required to support channel negotiations.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience
Essential to the job:
• The role holder must have knowledge of customer acquisition in the mobile market
• Must be able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness, analytical thinking and competence with figures
• Good spreadsheet skills
• Very good in producing reports and presentations
• Good communication skills
Role holder will present analysis findings and recommendations in written form, but will also need to be able to explain the information clearly and concisely. Data can be complicated and sensitive and will need to be summarised into key messages so that business can translate into action. Data will also be evaluative so will need to ensure conveys full picture which considers risks and opportunities.
Desirable:
• Experience in either a sales or marketing environment
• Understand Finance fundamentals (ROI, time-value of money, opportunity costs)
