Purpose of Role:
Our client is a leading Network Operator and they are looking for Head of Commercial Trader with 3-4 years of relevant experience and industry knowledge.
Main Activities
• Manage overall channel performance £150m SAC and SRC budget, £10m DM, £313m 2 year EBITDA
• Cross channel volume planning & SAC
• Agree sales targets with Sales Directors and ensure their buy in to the delivery of the volume
• Macro investment decisions across channels & cross channel trade offs
• Sign off overall handset range
• Manage Commercial Trading meetings
• Manage wider commercial trading meetings
• Optimise channel investment and performance
• Commercial sign off on all deals and price downs
• Channel proposition plan: define channel proposition plan and sign-off customer and channel facing comms.
Business Knowledge:
Works to board level – preparing materials for, and presenting, at operational board. Crucial to understand all areas of the business – esp. sales, finance & brand. Understanding of different commercial models, value chains and optimisation from industries outside telco.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience
• P&L management
• Budget forecasting and re-forecasting
• Capability to turn analytical thinking into clear and actionable plans
• Commercial experience in a branded service/FMCG business. Telco experience extremely advantageous
• Experience of sales or trading
• Experience of managing 4/5 year financial targets specifically Revenue and G0M
• Demonstrable understanding of the dynamics of price/behaviour based segments
• Strong communicator, both written and verbal, with a particular emphasis on the ability to influence management at all levels, up to board level
• Strong analytical and commercial capability
• Sound financial acumen
• Likes doing deals
• Good negotiator
