Squace
Squace is a software company providing next generation interface software and services for mobile phones and similar devices with small screens or limited keyboard capabilities. Our approach allows users to rapidly and easily explore and share mobile Internet content with one scroll and/or click. Squace gives users a uniquely phone- friendly, intuitive interface that makes surfing, searching and sharing Internet content possible on ordinary mobile phones without typing.

We are now looking at strengthening our team to meet our challenges for the future.

Squace is developed and distributed by Squace AB, a start-up with about 15 employees and headquarters in Stockholm.



Who are you?

We look for creative, ambitious, and hard-working people who are attracted to the exciting environment of a rapidly developing start-up.

Your profile must include.

- MSc in computer science / software engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- 2+ years of proven experience in web development, preferably Java
- Passion for technology with an eye for details. You are of course highly organized.

It is also a plus if you have experience in one or more of the following competences/skills.
- JavaScript, Ajax, html/css.
- Hibernate and Linux
- Dojo or Prototype and Flex /Flash.
- Knowledge in Photoshop and search engine optimization
- Experience in J2ME development, including mobile JSR API’s and handset behavior, TCP/IP protocol and communication.
- Other mobile platforms, like iPhone, Windows ME, Linux or Symbian.
- It is definitely a plus if you have developed production systems with requirements for performance and reliability, “web 2.0”, billing or ad systems.

What will you do?

As Squace developer you will be part of a creative team developing next generation user experience on mobile devices. Your job description will most likely evolve over time as the company grows and you gain more experience. Here are just a few examples of your job tasks.

- Develop our cutting edge mobile client running on thousands of mobile phone models, including Java, iPhone, Android, Symbian, Windows ME.
- Develop our web front end to our cutting edge mobile internet solution.
- Develop our cutting edge mobile service for millions of users, which means experience in performance and reliability is key.
- Involvement in a combination of architecture, design and implementation tasks
- Work closely with the rest of the Squace team to meet agreed objectives of quality and deadlines.
- Create, design and develop best in class solutions within the Squace platform.
- Create and design of technical documents used by the team.


Career
- Engineering: Continue to develop your programming skills in pioneer technology.
- Architecture: Gradually grow into the responsibility of one or more subsystems within the Squace platform as well as lead architecture and engineering positions.
- Research: As part of the job, run your own research projects for future Squace solutions
- UI, Usability and Design: Be part of the future development of the Squace user interface.

Salary
Squace offers our employees a fixed salary combined with a team bonus and stock options.
