Principle Embedded Software Engineer - Sycamore Networks

Position Description

This position will be responsible for architecture, design, development and support of embedded software for telecommunications applications, specifically signaling and control plane software development. Responsibilities include understanding signaling and control plane protocols, applying that understanding to Sycamore’s products, architecting and designing control plane solutions and implementation, unit and integration testing and support of these protocols.

Required Skills
Knowledge and experience with one or more data or telecommunications technologies like DWDM, Ethernet, SONET/SDH, or TCP/IP. Proficient in C/C+.

Required Experience
7 years experience designing and developing embedded communication software applications, preferably distributed computing environment. 5+ years experience working with signaling and control plane protocols, such as MPLS, LDP, RSVP, or GMPLS. Experience with routing protocols, such as OSPF, a plus.
