Position Description
Nice opportunity with uncapped commissions for a sales manager to work for a USA based manufacturer of ruggedized mobile phones. These phones are sold to mobile operators’ enterprise customers (construction, utilities, transportation, and healthcare) and blue collar workers and outdoor lifestyle consumers, needs a young, energetic Regional Sales Manager to increase revenues and extend their market share in the Benelux region. Company has 2 handsets in Europe and launching new 3G phone summer 2009, has won several awards for ruggedized mobile phone and applications, has a solid worldwide market, and employs 120 worldwide.
Establish new and maintain existing, long-term relationships with mobile operators, handset distributors, mobile retailers, and consumer electronics stores. Manage and interpret customer requirements – listening to clients and using astute questioning to understand, anticipate and exceed their needs. Persuade clients that ruggedized handsets for their blue-collar subscribers and enterprise customers will best satisfy their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery. You will manage and grow ruggedized mobile handsets reseller accounts with key distributors and mobile operators. The focus is in increasing the revenues through aggressive sales, customer support, product training, sales training, and excellent relationship skills.
The current market for this Client is 1.5 years old and has done well but could do double by having someone really work the region. Work on the reseller level suitable for this niche work-tool handset which is something the distributors are not effective at. Continue to work with distribution but focus will be at the reseller level and all marketing and support will be reseller focused. After hunt then begin to farm each month with the prey caught. Extremely flexible and able to work in very fast paced frenetic environment with ongoing demands.
Compensation package has a base salary of €75k to €85k annual plus commissions that are NOT capped. All other Sales Managers in Europe are averaging total comp exceeding €300k. Company provides paid private medical insurance, home office expenses, and travel expenses. This position is not for the 35-40 hour work week type of person.
The ideal candidate has a track record in exceeding sales quotas in handset sales to mobile operators, handset distribution, resellers, and mobile operators’ retailers in the Benelux region. Native Dutch with fluent French (Dutch Belgians are ideal) or Americans living in Benelux are ideal. Please no 8-6 jobbers as we need someone with the energy and drive to make money and squeeze the sponge in the Benelux. Must have experience working from a home office. You should be a risk taker who believes in yourself and your sales abilities. Must have extensive account management and product/customer training and sales training of resellers and agents, distributors, and mobile operators. Must be an expert in creating and delivering customer product presentations.
Requires a University/Bachelor degree with 5+ years selling handsets and managing channel sales for a handset vendor (HTC, Symbol, RIM, etc.) and/or distributor (Brightpoint, Dangaard, Mobicall, etc.). Must be fluent read and write in English and Dutch. Must currently live in the Benelux region (Netherlands, Belgium, or Luxembourg). American expats or candidates who have lived and worked in USA are highly preferred. EVP will be Benelux week of November 17th for face-to-face interviews.
