Position Description

The Director of Wireless Roaming will the responsible for developing and managing the roaming business strategy, be the single point of contact for all roaming partnerships with other carriers, negotiating roaming deals, and providing oversight for the build out of the roaming operations to support market launch.
Responsible for developing the roaming budget, managing the roaming business plan and reducing the costs associated with domestic and international roaming.
Work with marketing, finance, legal, regulatory, network engineering, operations and billing operations to develop the necessary processes for establishing and managing the roaming business.
Establish and manage the clearing house relationship
Lead, motivate and manage large cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
Responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of key tools and systems to support voice, data and SMS/MMS roaming.

The Director of Wireless Roaming will accomplish the above tasks by:
Establish strategic business objectives for roaming
Work with Marketing and Product Development to define roaming requirements and ensure the carrier partnerships support the marketing and product strategy
Develop the business case for Cox¿ roaming operations
Analyze and manage the associated capital and expense budgets
Build strong working relationships with multi-faceted teams internal to Cox Communications, including but not be limited to Product Development, Engineering, Operations, MIS, Marketing, Public Relations, Legal/Regulatory, Customer Care, Training, markets and vendor partners.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of relevant wireless industry experience, negotiating roaming deals and managing roaming operations.
Possess strong planning capabilities, communications skills and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively influence team members through consensus building and ability to get results through others.
Must be able to interface effectively and have good working relationships with wireless service providers and industry peers.
Willingness to travel 10% – 25% of the time.
BS/BE degree required or comparable business experience required.
MBA preferred.
Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong initiative and the ability to drive projects to completion with limited supervision.
Understand and implement process improvement methodologies.
