Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer (Principle System Architect Engineer)

Due to our continued growth and customer demand we are currently recruiting for a qualified, interested and available opportunity for a PRINCIPLE SYSTEM ARCHITECT ENGINEER in our Base Station Antenna Division located in Richardson, Texas.

Job Summary:
Employs extensive expertise as a generalist or specialist. Will use experience and knowledge of Hardware, Software, and wireless mobile network design to bridge the 2 systems effectively by creating system level designs and architectures that comply with product requirements. Involves the creation of high level design documentation that bridges hardware and software and specifies functionality for each. May be highly skilled in one field or have a general understanding of several fields. Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of own field and related sciences or disciplines. Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods.

Responsibilities include:
Design, evaluate, analyze, and validate products that incorporate hardware and software systems. Ensure adequate requirements and procedures are in place so that the resulting products and systems works per design. Ensure all parts and products of a higher level system and Product Line seamlessly fit together as a cohesive system. Create and maintain system level architectural documents to outline and describe the entire hardware and software implementation of combined products. Assist and evaluate System Level Test procedures to ensure total system integrity is validated. Interface with internal and external parties to Commscope in order to communicate and present system level architecture and designs. Interaction to include engineering peers and management. Interface to external customers to present material on products and system architectural designs. Includes inter-operability presentations between Commscope products and other vendor products. Mentor, and provide feedback to hardware and software design to other professionals.

Types Of Decisions:
Design issues involving products and projects with software and hardware implementation. Budgetary and discipline issues.
Major architectural issues involving cross-platform products.

Work Relationships:
Design, implementation, and validation of hardware and software products. Communication, presentation, and description of product design and system level architecture. Communication and presentation of product. System level architecture descriptions. Inter-operability discussions.

Equipment Operations:
Desk top computer and Microsoft offices systems with software development platforms. Hardware diagnostic equipment, such as analyzers and oscilloscopes’.

Travel Requirements:
Some travel time between CommScope entities, as well as travel to customers for interaction and presentation of products. Estimated travel time 10% to 20%.

Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervision or management responsibilities; Mentors other professionals, and will function as a technical leader.
Qualifications:
- BSEE or Equivalent technical degree
- Minimum 8 years of work experience in related hardware and software design and/or system level architecture and integration; Candidate must be familiar and experienced in both hardware and software systems, and integration and interaction between systems; Experience with or knowledge of wireless networks a very strong plus.
- Must possess excellent oral, written, and presentational skills
- Demonstrated ability to regularly contact, influence and negotiate with both internal and external individuals on both hardware and software architectural issues
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Must be organized, versatile and capable of working multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail/accuracy in addition to strong organizational and follow up skills
