OVERALL ROLE:

We are looking for an Application Developer to work on new client applications and services for Motorola phones based on the Google Android platform. Main responsibilities will include developing application engines in Java, designing and documenting feature implementation plans, and general troubleshooting.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS:

• Key member of the team responsible for implementation of multiple protocols, services, and applications.
• Work with multiple teams to help define and implement “best in class” user experiences for new features. This includes working with applications engineers and product marketing to coordinate the engineering effort and product definition to arrive at the best possible user experience.
• Define, set, and deliver on project milestones.



SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• 5+ years of Java or C++ programming experience.
• Full software development lifecycle experience.
• Strong working knowledge of client/server communications and understanding of networking API’s that include HTTP and TCP.
• Results oriented, product focused.
• Team player who values the project, company, and co-workers. High energy and passion towards developing new software.
• Good verbal and written communication.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

• Google Android programming experience.
• J2ME, I18n, L10n and/or OTA (over the air).
• Experience shipping applications for mobile devices.
• Ownership of large portions of shipping a product.
