Position Description
Our client, an innovative wireless solutions provider is looking a sales engineer (SE) to support enterprise and carrier customers.
In this SE role, the successful candidate will be the trusted adviser to the channel sales teams and numerous customers in the assigned territory. As a subject matter expert, the SE will frequently present knowledge of solutions to large audiences and demonstrate how it integrates with enterprise systems.
The successful candidate for the SE position will provide technical expertise and knowledge of wireless data solutions to customers and carrier partners in both pre-sales and post-sales capacities. The successful candidate will engage in consultative, deep technical discussions with customers and carrier partners on the best practices, capabilities, requirements, configurations as well as the usage of the company wireless technology portfolio. The SE will be responsible for technically mentoring carrier relationships and assist these carrier teams in managing customer relationships. The successful candidate will need to develop a strong working knowledge of the wireless platforms, wireless technology, messaging systems, and competing technologies. Regular activities will include participation in customer meetings, carrier partner training events, and trade shows.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• MUST have pre-sales experience
• 5+ years experience architecting, deploying and managing a large deployment of any of the following E-mail platforms: Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, and Novell GroupWise
• Solid understanding of Enterprise Application, Web Application, Service Oriented, and Client-Server Architectures as well as knowledge of ERP/SFA/CRM/FSA competitive landscape
• 7+ years experience as a technology consultant
• Technical aptitude and business acumen with a consultative approach to find creative solutions to real customer problems
• Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to handle large audiences are a must
• Technical knowledge on firewalls, proxies, software distribution, asset management, network infrastructures, and systems monitoring.
• Proven customer management skills
• Bachelor degree is minimum education requirement
• Candidate must have the ability to travel frequently throughout the Mid-Atlantic region
• Applicable industry certifications (MCSE, CLP, MCNE, etc.)
• Web or Client/Server application development experience
